Which one is right for my music studio?
The highlight of any Kurzweil piano keyboard is the originality in the design and architecture and the innovative technology that have been the driving forces of the Kurzweil piano keyboards. This independent and strong standing lies in the very foundation of the Kurzweil Music Systems. Founded in 1982, this company was owned by Raymond Kurzweil who developed reading machines for the blind. The successful foray into music using the technology for making reading machines is nothing short of genius.
This genius is what reflects in the state of the art technology that is used in all Kurzweil’s Digital Piano Keyboards. Kurzweil is known to have designed the first synthesizer that was able to emulate the sound of a grand piano in 1984. This was the K250 which was hugely successful and popular in Hollywood. The experimental model K150 has not seen commercial success but was a stepping stone to innovative ideas that has made Kurweil a respected brand. This model has paved the way for the use of digital technology to be introduced in piano keyboards and has proven that possibilities are immense.
The K series piano keyboards saw development and the K2600 is Kurzweil’s first triple strike piano keyboard with the first realistic sound like a grand piano. The K2600XS is a modern variant and is still a hugely popular instrument. It has 88 weighted keys and has almost the same likeness in sound as a grand piano has. It is hard to tell the difference. Along with K2661, which is a 61 key piano keyboard, the K2600 is at the helm of the K series from Kurzweil.
The evolution of Kurzweil has led to the production of the PC3X model which is a next generation music device. It incorporates the famous VAST technology which is an impeccable derivative from the previous productions and makes up for all the shortcomings and provides a vast plethora of additional features that helps is generation of music and sound features that are emphatic and perfect. One of the best features of the Kurzweil keyboards is the music lesson facility that not only helps one learn to play piano and generate innovative music making as well.
